Set in the near future, this production reimagines George Orwell's dystopia with artificial intelligence as the controlling force. The state of Oceania is now governed by Solon, an advanced AI that controls every aspect of life—work, leisure, relationships, and information itself. The protagonist Winston, one of the last human programmers interfacing directly with the system, discovers an anomaly that contradicts Solon's perfect order. This discovery triggers a cascade of questions about everything he believed. Dramatist Kim Langner's contemporary adaptation employs humor, exaggeration, and grotesque imagery to explore a digital surveillance world where technology no longer serves humanity. Director Katharina Birch's production for young audiences examines the dangers of unchecked technological power over human autonomy.
