About the show

Los Angeles, 2004: Paris Hilton is on a meteoric rise from It girl to reality TV star when her ex-boyfriend publishes her private sex tape. At the same time in Bergisch Gladbach, a young teenage girl nicknamed 'Paris' finds herself in her own version of that video. Years later, she encounters the man who abused her, and an act of violence occurs in a Hilton hotel room. In the form of a memoir, Yana Eva Thönnes follows two doppelgängers through the prism of traumatic memory, dissecting the noughties as the last unashamedly misogynistic decade and the rapid expansion of an all-encompassing internet.
