About the show

Erich Wolfgang Korngold's one-act opera VIOLANTA, staged at Deutsche Oper Berlin. Directed by David Hermann, the production follows Violanta, who plots revenge against Alfonso — the seducer of her sister who took her own life — set against the backdrop of the Venetian carnival. The staging features a large rotating spiral on stage and is preceded by a lute piece by John Dowland. Conducted by Donald Runnicles with Laura Wilde in the title role.
