Barbora Horáková

Czech director and designer Barbora Horáková Joly started her career a singer, until she decided to focus on directing. As an assistant director at Theater Basel, she worked with Sebastian Nübling, Armin Petras and Vera Nemirova, then in 2015, alongside Calixto Bieito, she collaborated on the world premiere of Wilde at the Schwetzingen Festival. She was awarded the International Opera Award for ‘Newcomer of the Year’. Ernani is her directorial debut for OBV.
