Intro

The Theatre de Liege is a premier cultural institution and performing arts venue located in the historic center of Liege, Belgium. Since 2013, it has been permanently housed in the beautifully renovated Emulation building, a neoclassical structure seamlessly integrated with contemporary architectural extensions. Covering a total area of 7,800 square meters, the design masterfully balances historic columns and gilding with modern elements of wood, concrete, and glass. The facility manages two main performance spaces, including the grand Salle de la Grande Main with a seating capacity of 557 and the more intimate, flexible Salle de l Oeil vert which accommodates 145 spectators. Operating as a major European center for theatrical and choreographic creation, the venue produces and showcases around forty diverse shows each season. It serves as a vital creative hub that hosts world renowned directors, international actors, and emerging contemporary dance companies year round. Additionally, the building features dedicated exhibition spaces, rehearsal studios, and a resident restaurant, making it an indispensable part of the city s vibrant cultural life.
