Pireos 260 is a prominent industrial cultural venue located in the Tavros district of Athens, Greece. Originally built in the 1970s, the complex functions as a former office furniture factory that has been creatively repurposed into a major performance arts center. Since 2006, it has served as one of the primary and most vital stages for the annual Athens Epidaurus Festival. The complex consists of four large industrial buildings and warehouses that have been officially classified as historical monuments by the Ministry of Culture. Inside these preserved structures, the festival successfully established multiple modern theater stages, including a 550 seat auditorium and a 650 seat theater. The venue is highly celebrated for its raw industrial aesthetic, featuring exposed steel beams and expansive open interiors that perfectly complement avant-garde and experimental theater. Sharing a city block with the Athens School of Fine Arts, it regularly hosts a diverse program of international theater, contemporary dance, and interdisciplinary performances. It remains a shining example of modern urban revitalization, transforming a derelict manufacturing zone into a thriving center for contemporary artistic expression.
