The play unfolds at a public meeting concerning the proposed construction of a special school for students with developmental disabilities. Families advocating for the school face opposition from local residents who would rather see a traditional Korean medicine hospital built in their neighborhood. As the debate intensifies, competing demands, personal interests, and conflicting justifications turn the meeting into an increasingly heated confrontation. Through the voices of those on both sides, the play reveals how the desire to protect one's own way of life can lead to the exclusion of others. Inspired by a real controversy surrounding the establishment of a special school in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, Everyday Landscape reimagines the conflict as a fictional story that asks audiences to confront the prejudice and everyday choices underlying social discrimination.
