SCENES FROM A FRIENDSHIP

About the show

“I don’t know who I am without you. You're the custodian of every version of me.” It’s 1987. Kylie’s about to hit number one, and Jess meets Billy. They quickly become inseparable—the kind of soulmates who finish each other’s sentences and overshare about first kisses. Then life happens. Across four decades of love, loss, family and change, Billy and Jess discover that staying friends can be every bit as complicated as falling in love. Written with extraordinary warmth, wit and compassion, Jane Upton’s Scenes from a Friendship is a funny, tender and deeply moving play about the people who witness our lives, shape who we become and remind us of who we’ve always been. Following their sold-out production of So Young, Outhouse Theatre Co. returns to the Old Fitz starring Ainslie McGlynn (So Young, & Till the Stars Come Down) alongside three-time Sydney Theatre Award winner Thomas Campbell (Misterman, The Lewis Trilogy).
