DOUBLE BILL : SINAWI

Two visionary choreographers, both representing their generations, come together to interpret the traditional Korean musical form 'sinawi' through their unique creative styles and distinct sensibilities. 〈Double Bill〉 features Bae Jeong-hye's 〈Life (生)〉, which dispels and interweaves destructive spiritual energies (sal) into a ritualistic prayer for renewal and peace, alongside Bae Jin-ho's 〈AHRA〉, an evocative work that translates the deep-seated sorrow (han) of Arirang into a modern physical language of ultimate beauty. In a pioneering first for the National Dance Company of Korea, the performance divides its cast by generation - giving audiences a front-row seat to the fascinating dialogue between seasoned mastery and bold experimentation extending into different artistic textures. Where timeless tradition intersects with a contemporary edge, this new production sets a striking new paradigm for creative Korean dance.
