KILLING THE deer

A luxury electric car is seen on a remote mountain road. A designated driver approaches in an electric vehicle. The car owner rolls down the window and looks at the driver. The driver examines the luxury electric car and expresses concern. If even a minor accident were to occur, the driver explains, the damage could be devastating. The car owner, however, calmly tells the driver that they should leave immediately. When the driver questions why such a high fee has been offered for such a short distance, the car owner explains that the payment includes compensation for the risks involved. The driver hesitates. The car owner urges the driver to get in, saying that they always shake hands at the end of a transaction. The driver agrees only after receiving a promise that they will not be held responsible, no matter what happens. The driver starts driving, but the car owner does not reveal the destination. And then, the car owner's strange requests continue.
