About the show

The famed work M. Butterfly, a Broadway hit that reimagined a myth, is being reborn as the world's first musical! Based on the shocking true story of a French diplomat and a Chinese Peking opera actor, this work uses Puccini's opera Madama Butterfly and the Chinese folktale The Butterfly Lovers as a mirror to reflect each other, and portrays with sharp insight the human desire trapped in the illusion of love.
