Queensland Theatre Company returns with its Matilda Award-winning adaptation of Jane Austen's classic romance. Elizabeth Bennet, an independent and witty young woman determined to resist societal pressure to marry, navigates the complexities of family expectation and social propriety in Regency England. When she encounters the seemingly arrogant Mr Darcy, a clash of pride and prejudice unfolds. As their relationship develops, both must overcome their initial misconceptions about each other. The production features a full ensemble cast performing on a grand theatrical scale, bringing Austen's intricate world of romance, social maneuvering, and interconnected love stories to life. The adaptation by Patrick White Award winners Wendy Mocke and Lewis Treston, directed by Bridget Boyle and Daniel Evans, delivers both the wit and emotional depth of the source material.
