About the show

In this Pulitzer Prize-winning play by August Wilson, siblings from the Charles family clash over the disposition of a treasured hand-carved piano. One sibling seeks to sell the instrument for financial gain, while the other is determined to preserve it as a family legacy. The conflict between their competing visions—one oriented toward material wealth and the other toward ancestral connection—animates the drama as historical echoes complicate their present-day struggle.
