The Everyman
Pig and Runt, two Cork teenagers sharing the same birthday and a secret language, face the upheaval of impending adulthood in this landmark Irish play. First performed in Cork in 1996, Disco Pigs marked the theatrical debuts of writer-director Enda Walsh and actors Cillian Murphy and Eileen Walsh. The Everyman presents a major new production of this seminal work as part of its EVERYMAN MADE in-house programme. For the first time, Walsh himself directs his own play, bringing fresh creative vision to the piece that established his reputation. Performed in a single uninterrupted hour and twenty minutes, the production captures the intensity of two young lives on the verge of transformation, thirty years after the play's original premiere.
