The Sound of Macbeth is a cross-genre music theatre piece that reopens Shakespeare's tragedy through sound. Rather than retelling the oriundo story, it listens to the poetry, the imagery and the music rhythm inside Shakespeare's language. The actors' voices, music, movement and bodies come together as one stage language, given the rhythm and feeling of the text a shape you can see and hear. On stage, an inner Macbeth at the piano keeps crossing paths with the living Macbeth who drives the play. The resonance of the black box theatre turns into the resonance of sound itself, sound you can see colludes with light you can hear, and Shakespeare's beautiful language is amplified until you feel it.
