Eighty-year-old Vivienne Blackwood has made her own choices throughout life, often to her family's dismay. When her relatives gather for her birthday celebration, they anticipate familiar family tensions. Instead, Vivienne delivers shocking news: her birthday party marks something far more significant—a farewell to life. She has chosen to end her life the following day and wants her family present. Playwright Morna Young's work balances dark humour with genuine emotion, exploring themes of autonomy, mortality, and familial bonds. The play examines how one woman's decision to control her own ending reverberates through her family, touching on grief, acceptance, and what it means to live and die on one's own terms.
