The programme opens with Fučík's iconic march and Hans Zimmer's epic Gladiator score, then pivots to Artie Shaw's jazzy Clarinet Concerto with Principal Clarinet Andrew Simon. The orchestra's trombone section—Jarod Vermette, Christian Goldsmith, Kevin Thompson, and Aaron Albert—showcases virtuosity in Koetsier's playful Concertino for Four Trombones. The concert climaxes with Wagner's thunderous Ride of the Valkyries, preceded by Saint-Saëns' Danse Bacchanale and Khachaturian's Sabre Dance. Conducted by Lio Kuokman, the 60-minute concert without intermission delivers an exhilarating blend of theatrical and classical energy.
