The Everyman
Mark Ravenhill's play examines friendship, ambition, jealousy, and artistic tension when a group of artists undertakes an exciting trip abroad. An unexpected event becomes the catalyst that distorts their relationships and reveals darker truths beneath the surface. This production stages the 2006 work in an unconventional setting—an empty swimming pool beneath The Metropole Hotel in Cork—creating an immersive experience that blurs boundaries between installation art, physical theatre, and live performance. Directed by Des Kennedy with movement design by Luke Murphy, the production combines visceral staging with contemporary theatrical approaches to explore how personal and professional ambitions can fracture even close artistic bonds.
