About the show

The London premiere production of Notre-Dame de Paris officially opened in the West End on May 23, 2000. Staged at the massive Dominion Theatre, this iteration marked the show's highly anticipated transition into the English-language market. The book and lyrics were translated from Luc Plamondon's original French by Academy Award-winning American lyricist Will Jennings (famous for writing the lyrics to Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On"). The London staging featured a historic "hybrid" cast, blending returning superstars from the original 1998 French production with prominent international vocalists.
