The Bearded Ladies Cabaret presents an irreverent parody of the beloved children's program, reimagined through a queer lens. Created by the company and written by Rose Jarboe, who stars in the production, the work explores the iconic neighborhood through a comedic yet earnest lens. The piece playfully questions its source material while examining contemporary themes, asking unexpected questions about irony, emotional vulnerability, and neighborly connection. Directed by Suli Holum, this production runs June 2–13, 2027, with special preview performances and supplementary programming including talk-backs, open mic, and Black Affinity Night.
