About the show

Palestinian actor and comedian Alaa Shehada delivers a personal journey through occupation and family connection in this solo performance. Carrying olive oil from his grandfather's Palestinian trees as an annual gift, Shehada crosses the Jordan Valley bridge—the sole permitted crossing for West Bank Palestinians—encountering leaks, border tensions, and fellow travelers along the way. Blending physical comedy, storytelling, and stand-up, the production explores themes of displacement, resilience, and human connection against the backdrop of colonial history and broken promises. Co-written with director Sam Beale, the work amplifies Palestinian voices through humor and lived experience.
