One of the eleven surviving comedies from ancient Greece, Aristophanes' Lysistrata takes on timeless themes of war and peace through the story of a woman who unites her city's women in a bold act of resistance. This new Chinese-language adaptation, directed by renowned Greek director Katerina Evangelatos and created in collaboration with Chinese playwright Nick Rongjun Yu, reimagines the 2,400-year-old play with vibrant theatricality. The production features elaborate staging, dynamic choreography, and original music performed by an ensemble cast, infusing the ancient comedy with contemporary energy while preserving its satirical wit and social commentary.
