Anthony Neilson's fantastical drama follows Lisa, a woman who has mysteriously lost an hour of her life and journeys to the surreal country of Dissocia to retrieve it. The play ventures into the landscape of psychological disconnection, presenting a world with its own peculiar logic—simultaneously innocent and violent, threatened by the mysterious Black Dog King. As the narrative unfolds, the external geography of Dissocia becomes revealed as an internal manifestation of Lisa's mind. Originally commissioned for the 2004 Edinburgh Festival, this bold and imaginative work won the Critics' Awards for Theatre in Scotland for Best New Play. The Academy production features a Cantonese translation with multilingual surtitles, accompanied by original compositions and choreography, creating a visually and sonically rich theatrical experience that explores themes of mental disconnection and personal displacement.
