Marimba Four Seasons is a marimba duo concert created and performed by Hong Kong marimba artist Ernestina Leung and Japanese marimba artist Hiromi Shigeno.Inspired by the four seasons, spring, summer, autumn, and winter. The concert explores changes in nature, the passage of time, and the connection between human experience and the natural world. Through the warm and layered sound of the marimba, the programme brings together classical works, contemporary music, and original works for marimba, showing the rich possibilities of melody, rhythm, and colour in a marimba duo setting.This performance also features real-time visuals created by artist moon.noon. Sound and image will unfold together in the same space, creating a more vivid and immersive listening experience.Ernestina Leung and Hiromi Shigeno come from Hong Kong and Japan respectively, and have both been active across the European and Asian music scenes. Through this series, the two artists explore how nature, seasons, and sound can be experienced through different cultural perspectives.Marimba Four Seasons was presented in Zurich, Switzerland between 2023 and 2025, with support from the City of Zurich Culture Department. In 2026, the series will be presented in Hong Kong for the first time, bringing local audiences an intimate and sincere marimba duo concert.
