About the show

Pam, a trans woman working in a New Jersey toll booth, discovers a hidden world when her estranged father dies and leaves behind mysterious secrets. This revelation introduces her to the high-energy realm of competitive aerobics frozen in 1988. The musical follows her journey into this unfamiliar landscape of exuberant physicality and queer joy. With book and lyrics by Kit Yan and Melissa Li and music by Li, the production is directed and co-choreographed by Connor Gallagher, with co-choreography by Jay Jackson (Laganja Estranja). MISS STEP blends comedy, dance, and heart into a vibrant new work celebrating self-discovery and belonging.
