BRIAN BLESSED'S 90TH BIRTHDAY BASH
2026.11.22 ~ 2026.11.22
Adelphi Theatre
As he enters his tenth decade, join us for a celebration of the life, wit, and wisdom of the greatest living Englishman: Brian Blessed. He’s saved the galaxy. He’s climbed Everest without oxygen (three times). He’s written seven books, massed choirs, and twice hosted Have I Got News For You. He is a Third Dan in judo, and once delivered a baby singlehanded in the middle of Richmond park. There is, quite simply, no performer in the British Isles like Brian Blessed. The son of a South Yorkshire coal miner, Brian Blessed trained at the Bristol Vic and went onto to become one of the most respected actors of his generation, equally adept at comedy and tragedy, Shakespeare and sci-fi, musical theatre and classical opera. He led the Roman Empire in I Claudius and the Gungans of Naboo in The Phantom Menace. He created the role of Old Deuteronomy in Cats for Andrew Lloyd Webber, and Baron Bomburst in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the London Palladium. He has played kings, princes, lords, and paupers; his thunderous voice can be heard in heavy metal albums, Disney cartoons, and satellite navigation systems. Now, as he turns 90, he is a bone fide national treasure. Join us at the Adelphi Theatre as we celebrate his life and he looks back on his extraordinary career: from scaling mountains to treading the boards. Don’t miss it.
