Eric Miller, a staunchly loyal Unionist, spirals into a darkly comedic and intense crisis in a therapy session, where his deep-seated prejudices and psychological turmoil are laid bare. As Eric grapples with the perceived threat to his identity, he becomes increasingly unhinged, convinced that his infant granddaughter bears a striking resemblance to Sinn Féin’s Gerry Adams. Eric’s journey is marked by interactions with his therapist Bridget, his bewildered wife Bernie, and his daughter Julie. These relationships unravel against a backdrop of sectarian tension and personal paranoia, highlighting themes of identity, loyalty, and the corrosive impact of bigotry. The play’s dark humour and sharp dialogue expose the absurdity and tragedy of Eric’s mindset, culminating in shocking revelations and explosive confrontations.
