As champions of Stephen Sondheim’s work, NYMT are excited to present INTO THE WOODS, his collaboration with James Lapine: an innovative and intricate retelling of well known storybook characters. This thought-provoking allegory is relevant for audiences of all ages through the ages, and is widely regarded as a modern classic. The Tony Award-winning book and score are enchanting in their poignancy, touching on the universal themes of family and friendship; love and loyalty; belonging and betrayal. Originally directed on Broadway by James Lapine. Orchestrations by Jonathan Tunick. This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Music Theatre International.
