About the show

Potsdam, 1985, summer vacation. Sixteen-year-old René is on his own: his mother is dead, his father at a conference in Switzerland. Together with his friends, René roams the hot, deserted city. His father has left him a staggering 1,000 East German marks, which, along with seven dusty bottles of Napoléon brandy, form the basis of this vacation. The boys read Baudelaire and Mallarmé, discuss music, fall in and out of love, and know perfectly well: there will never be another summer like this.
