About the show

Yellow Face is a semi-autobiographical satire humorously explores race, cultural identity, and representation in the American entertainment industry. The world premiere took place at Mark Taper Forum in L.A. The production later opened at Martinson Hall. The creative team for its celebrated off-Broadway production at The Public Theater in 2007 included scenic design by David Korins and lighting by Donald Holder. Hwang’s long and celebrated history with The Public Theater spans decades, dating back to his 1981 OBIE-winning play, FOB.
