Everybody is a modern adaptation of the fifteenth-century morality play Everyman, one of the first recorded plays in the English language. Though anonymous, the medieval play was originally written in Dutch, and based on a Buddhist parable. The play premiered off-Broadway at the Irene Diamond Stage at Signature Theatre Company on February 21, 2017. It has proven to be a favourite among regional and university theatre seasons. His play Gloria (2015) was produced earlier this year, an ARC Production in association with Crow’s Theatre in Toronto, directed by André Sills, who starred in An Octoroon at the Shaw Festival in 2017.
