Former Associate Director Rupert Goold directed Patrick Stewart in one of Shakespeare's most controversial plays, following their previous collaborations on The Tempest and Macbeth. This acclaimed production was set in Las Vegas with the accompanying bright lights, casino and show girls. The play opened with the company playing blackjack, and shooting craps while being serenaded by Elvis Presley impersonator Jamie Beamish, playing Launcelot Gobbo.
