About the show

Iqbal Khan’s groundbreaking production of Othello was the first at the RSC to cast a black actor, Lucian Msamati, as Iago. Associate Artist Hugh Quarshie returned to the RSC to play the title role. Othello opened at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon, in June 2015. The show was broadcast to UK and selected worldwide cinemas in August 2015.
