Jack Holden's solo theatre work follows a man named Michael Spencer confronting his mortality after an HIV diagnosis in 1984. Set against the backdrop of London's Soho nightlife, the piece traces four decades of experience through the perspective of over 20 characters. Spencer initially accepts a four-year prognosis and plans an ultimate celebration, but survives beyond those expectations. The production explores how he navigates continued existence after preparing for death, while honouring those lost to the AIDS crisis. Presented by Fruit Box Theatre and Seymour Centre, the work combines personal narrative with broader historical reflection on queer community resilience.
