A lost gem rediscovered and reimagined, On A Clear Day You Can See Forever is quirky, romantic, supernatural, and utterly charming. Overlooked, curious, unusual, and unexpected, this world premiere chamber adaptation adds an additional queer twist for 2023. In the footsteps of their award-winning, sell-out productions of The Drowsy Chaperone and Man of La Mancha, Squabbalogic once again blends the ingredients of time, genre, heart, and humour by revising and revamping the winsome 1970s Barbra Streisand-starring screwball comedy for today. To quit nicotine at the behest of his humourless fiancé, David Gamble (Jay James-Moody, The Book of Mormon) enlists the services of psychiatrist and hypnosis researcher, Dr Mark Bruckner (Blake Bowden, The Phantom of the Opera). But what begins as a simple regression soon turns into something otherworldly as the doctor discovers inside David's mind the presence of Melinda Welles (Madeleine Jones, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), a sparkling woman who died tragically a century earlier. As Mark continues to meet with and fall for the scintillating Melinda via dowdy David’s subconscious, the unaware David finds he is falling for the handsome doctor, creating a comic cosmic love triangle with only two bodies. On A Clear Day You Can See Forever is an hilarious and heartwarming comedy of errors, exploring modern themes of sexuality, gender, and ethics in a fast-paced, joyous, and musical delight featuring all-new arrangements of the wonderful songs of Alan Jay Lerner (My Fair Lady, Brigadoon) and Burton Lane (Finian's Rainbow), including Hurry It’s Lovely Up Here, She Wasn’t You, Melinda, Come Back To Me, and (naturally), On A Clear Day You Can See Forever.
