Toby Schmitz is an Australian film, television and theatre actor. His theatre credits include Tom Stoppard's Travesties, and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead with Tim Minchin. Toby also performed in Stone's productions of Strange Interlude, The Wild Duck - in Sydney, Melbourne and Oslo, and in his European touring production of Thyestes. Most recently he performed in Andrew Upton's The Present alongside Cate Blanchett (STC). His television credits include the HBO mini-series "The Pacific," "McLeod's Daughters," "White Collar Blue," "City Homicide," "Water Rats," "Home and Away," "Temptation," "Cleo," "Crownies," and "Underbelly: The Man Who Got Away." Toby's film credits include Griff The Invisible, The Rage in Placid Lake, Emulsion and Somersault. Toby graduated from the National Institute of Dramatic Art in 1999. Toby’s book THE EMPRESS MURDERS was recently published by Allen & Unwin, to great acclaim.
