Asmik Grigoria

The Lithuanian soprano Asmik Grigorian is one of the most outstanding singing actresses of her generation and performs at major international opera houses and renowned festivals, including the Vienna and Bavarian State Operas, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Royal Opera, Covent Garden, La Scala, Milan, and the Salzburg Festival. Asmik Grigorian is a founder member of Vilnius City Opera and has twice been awarded the Golden Stage Cross, the highest Lithuanian theatre award. She received the Premios Ópera XXI in 2022, the Opus Klassik as Singer of the Year in 2023, the Special Jury Prize at the Austrian Music Theatre Prize in 2024 and the German theatre award Der Faust in 2025. Since her international breakthrough in Madama Butterfly at the Royal Swedish Opera, Asmik Grigorian has triumphed worldwide in interpretations of a variety of roles. Her repertory also includes Elisabetta (Don Carlo), Turandot, Rusalka, Chrysothemis (Elektra), Marietta (Die tote Stadt) and Marie (Wozzeck). Asmik Grigorian works regularly with leading conductors and directors, including Gianandrea Noseda, Franz Welser-Möst, Vladimir Jurowski, Alan Gilbert, Dmitri Tcherniakov, Romeo Castellucci, Claus Guth, Christof Loy, Barrie Kosky and Alex Ollé. She has released several much-praised CDs with Alpha Classics, including her debut solo recital album Dissonance with Lukas Geniušas, featuring Rachmaninoff songs.
