Jocelyn Bioh is an award-winning, exceptionally talented Ghanaian-American playwright, screenwriter, and performer celebrated for her vibrant wit, sharp cultural insights, and brilliant ability to amplify underrepresented voices on global stages. A graduate of Ohio State University and the Columbia University Playwriting MFA program, she has built an impressive reputation across major American theatrical institutions including Manhattan Theatre Club, MCC Theater, and The Public Theater. Based in New York City, she first captured widespread attention as a versatile performer on Broadway in The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time and Off-Broadway in Everybody, before fully cementing her status as a powerhouse literary force. Renowned for integrating joyous comedy with deeply resonant themes of identity and community, she made a historic impact with her critically acclaimed comedy School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play and her universally lauded Broadway playwriting debut, Jaja's African Hair Braiding.
