Trevor Holder is an American drummer, composer, and music director. A native New Yorker, he built an impressive musical foundation in classical piano at the Manhattan School of Music Prep Division before earning a degree with honors in music from Wesleyan University. Over his highly successful career, his exceptional ability to blend intricate rhythmic foundations with melodic sensitivity has made him a premier collaborator for jazz greats like Roy Ayers and Vijay Iyer, as well as mainstream theatrical productions. Known for integrating rich Afro-Cuban, swing, and funk rhythms with diverse harmonic structures, he has served as the musical cornerstone for numerous acclaimed Broadway shows and national tours. His extensive theatrical credits include holding the drum and percussion chair for massive cultural hits like Motown the Musical, The Book of Mormon, Memphis, and The Color Purple. His creative momentum reached an extraordinary peak with his brilliant co-orchestration and musical leadership for the critically acclaimed 2026 off-Broadway production of Cats: The Jellicle Ball, which earned widespread critical praise and a Tony Award nomination for Best Orchestrations, establishing him as a vital and multifaceted voice in the contemporary performing arts scene.
