Danny Ball

Danny Ball is an actor and writer who grew up in Melbourne to Italian-Australian parents before moving to Sydney, graduating from NIDA in 2016 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting). He was the recipient of the Award for ‘Outstanding Performer’ at the 2023 Australian Greenroom Awards for his critically acclaimed performance in Loaded at Malthouse Theatre in Melbourne. Other theatre credits include Troy (Malthouse Theatre), The Glass Menagerie (Ensemble), Holding the Man (Belvoir St Theatre), Darwin’s Reptilla, The Italians (Belvoir 25a), Cleansed (Old Fitz), Much Ado About Nothing and The Players Tour (Bell Shakespeare), Mercury Fur and The Serpent’s Teeth (KXT). Screen credits include Home & Away (Seven Network), Totally Completely Fine (Stan) and A Beginner’s Guide to Grief (SBS Originals). Danny’s plays include: The Italians (Belvoir 25a, filmed by Australian Theatre Live and to be published by Playlab in 2025), Scab (ATYP, published by Playlab) and La Malattia, which is being developed as part of Australian Plays Transform’s Rise Together, Write Together Program. He is currently in development for his horror feature Salire with Australian production company Cosmic Scream.
