Barrie Kosky

Barrie Kosky is an Australian theatre and opera director who trained at Melbourne Grammar School and the University of Melbourne. As Intendant and Chefregisseur of Komische Oper Berlin and former Hausregisseur at Staatsoper Stuttgart, he has directed productions at leading opera houses including the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Bayerische Staatsoper München, and Bayreuther Festspiele. His work has been recognised with the International Opera Award for Ensemble des Jahres, the Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, and the Order of Merit of Berlin.
