Omari Wiles is a versatile American dancer, choreographer, and artistic director celebrated for his compelling presence and groundbreaking contributions to the contemporary dance and ballroom communities. Raised in a household steeped in West African dance traditions under the guidance of his family's company, Maimouna Keita Dance School, he later expanded his artistic vocabulary by mastering hip-hop, house, modern dance, and vogue. As the founder and artistic director of Les Ballet Afrik, he has pioneered a unique movement style called AfrikFusion, which seamlessly bridges traditional African dance with the high-energy culture of contemporary New York ballroom. Known for integrating rich cultural heritage with sharp urban aesthetics, he has brought his vibrant choreography to major platforms, including collaborations with pop icons like Beyoncé, and featured appearances on mainstream television shows such as HBO Max's Legendary. His artistic vision has led Les Ballet Afrik to critically acclaimed residencies and performances at prestigious venues like New York City Center and the Joyce Theater, notably with the celebrated production New York Is Burning.
