Willow James

Willow James is a Chicago-based sound designer, producer, teaching artist, and DJ whose practice centers Black identity, new works, and theatre as activism. He serves as Co-Artistic Director and Resident Sound Designer at Artemisia Theatre, Civic Engagement Director at Definition Theatre, and Teaching Artist at Court Theatre, while holding adjunct faculty status at DePaul University. His sound design credits include productions at major regional theatres including Steppenwolf Theatre (*WINDFALL*, *Chlorine Sky*, *You Will Get Sick*), Goodman Theatre (*The Penelopiad*), Chicago Shakespeare Theater (*The Hero Within*), American Players Theatre (*The Royale*), and Alleyway Theatre (*The Magnolia Ballet*), among others.
