Daniel Cottier

Daniel (they/them) is a writer, director and producer. In 2024, they founded Daniel Cottier Productions. DCP's first production, Occasional Combustible Disaster, premiered at QTOPIA's Loading Dock Theatre. The production will return in 2026 for as part of the Civic Theatre, Newcastle's UpStage program. ​ Their second production, The Inheritance (co-produced with Shane Anthony, Sugary Rum Productions and Seymour Centre) won Sydney Theatre Awards for Best Independent Production, Best Director and Best Ensemble. Daniel was also nominated for a Casting Guild Award for Best Theatre Production for their work on The Inheritance. Their debut novel, YEAH / YES, was initially published as podcast and is now available as an audiobook and in print. Producing credits include: Neighbourhood Watch, Dead Centre / Sea Wall (Stooged Theatre), SWEETiE (Midsumma) Cleansed (Apocalypse Theatre Co), National Theatre of Parramatta's 2023 Season, 45th Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and Precinct Producer for 2025 Sydney Festival.
