장우성
Jang Woo-sung is a South Korean playwright whose work explores human dignity, social prejudice, discrimination, and coexistence through the stories of real-life figures. Together with director Park So-young and composer Lee Sun-young, he co-created the Voice Project, a series of music theatre productions that brings overlooked voices and meaningful lives to the stage. His notable works include Taeil, based on the life of labor activist Jeon Tae-il; Island: 1933–2019, which examines historical discrimination against people affected by leprosy and contemporary prejudice against people with disabilities; and Baekindang Taeyoung. Through careful research and thoughtful storytelling, Jang transforms individual lives into contemporary narratives that encourage empathy, social reflection, and a deeper understanding of others.
