Dean Bryant

Dean Bryant is a multi award-winning director and writer, and is currently Artistic Director and co-CEO of Malthouse Theatre. Dean received the 2025 Green Room award for Outstanding Director for his production of Victorian Opera’s Candide and also the award for Outstanding Writing for the book and lyrics of Melbourne Theatre Company’s smash-hit musical My Brilliant Career. This year, The Guardian described him as “one of the country’s greatest directors” for his work on new plays, classics, musicals, opera and cabaret.
