The dazzling lights and flawless acting you encounter when entering a theater are the result of months, sometimes years, of intensive effort. Today, we will follow this fierce production process through the perspective of an editor, from a mere 'practice' to a complete 'work of art.'

[ 1. First breath moment : Reading and table walking ]

The beginning of the performance begins not on a fancy stage, but on a practice room table. The 'reading' stage where cast actors and staff gather for the first time to read the script aloud is the beginning.

The framework of the performance is prepared through 'table work' that grasps the artist's intention and creates a narrative suitable for each character. It is no exaggeration to say that more than half of the plays have already been completed at this stage where the audience cannot see them.

[ 2. Space design : Block and practice dancing ]

This is a stage where written scripts turn into movements. The director sets the actor's blocking and the choreographer puts his or her gestures on the numbers. Since the stage set is not complete yet, we practice by taping the location of the stage on the floor and imagining virtual spaces. This is the longest repetition time to adjust the timing and difference of 0.1 seconds in one step.

[ 3. Meet technology and art : Technology rehearsal ]

It is the moment when you leave the practice room and enter the actual performance hall. From this point on, not only the actors but also the stage technicians become the main characters. The lighting of the stage equipment is precisely adjusted, and the volume and movement of the stage equipment are precisely adjusted. Actors adapt to the changed environment and move at the same time as the performance order with their costumes and makeup on. In order to move in seconds, patience is required by repeating dozens of times.

[ 4. Check if it's completed : Dress rehearsal ]

The last practice is the last practice held under the same conditions before the opening of the performance. All actors and staff members move as if they were real. They also check any unexpected situations that may occur at this time (damage to props, mistakes in changing clothes, etc.) and modify the details to show a perfect performance.

[ 5. First meeting with the audience : Preview performance ]

The preview is not an official opening, but a 'final gateway' stage to examine the actual audience's reaction. The script or direction is slightly modified by checking the audience's reaction at a certain point. The reason why the admission fee for the preview period is a little cheaper is that the audience also participates as a partner to complete the performance together.

The stage we see is the "crystal of time" with tens of thousands of readings and thousands of steps.

Remember this while you wait for the curtain to rise on stage in May.

The perfectly moving stage set and every actor's lines start to look different. Understanding the production process will eventually be the deepest way to appreciate art!!
